Tim Tebow will have a new skill to use in his fight for a starting job.

The Jets backup quarterback is mixing up his offseason workout routine, incorporating mixed martial arts training, spending time with the Gracie family in Torrance, California.

Tebow spent part of the past week training with renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trainer Ryron Gracie and UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub.

Gracie is a fifth-degree black belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and holds a Professor Certificate in teaching the martial art.

“Your athleticism/intelligence makes teaching Jiu jitsu even easier!” Gracie tweeted to Tim Tebow earlier this week, along with a photo of himself, his brother Ralek Gracie, Tebow and Schaub.

If the whole NFL quarterback career doesn’t work out, Tebow may want to try a career in the octagon.
