Birchbox

Every day is dress-up day for the employees of Birchbox, a company that curates beauty products and produces how-to video tutorials. So when holiday season arrives, the experts here really know how to get gussied up. "It's a smoky eye or bust," proclaims Rachel Liverman, 26, merchandise and marketing manager.

Katia Beauchamp, 28, who cofounded the members-only site with her Harvard classmate Hayley Barna, 28, just over a year ago, says she's developed an addiction to nail polish. "I own about 30 different colors," says Beauchamp, whose nails are currently painted with Holly by Zoya. "I change my nail color at least once a week."

"I feel like makeup makes a look party-ready," adds Barna, who favors a bold red lip.

Though it's predominantly a girls-only affair over at Birchbox's Park Avenue South offices, merchandizing and marketing manager Eric Neher isn't complaining. "Anytime anything comes in for men, I get it," the 29-year-old boasts.

Lucky for Neher, IT wizard Jereme Corrado, 35, won't be fighting over aftershave; he's got his eye on other things. "I get to work with really pretty girls," Corrado gushes. "I have the best job ever."

Rent the Runway

"I don't even own sweats, and I'm not a jeans person," Lara Crystal says. "I just always wear a dress." Luckily, the 30-year-old, in a stunning pink Prabal Gurung number, is VP of brand marketing for Rent the Runway, which leases dresses from the current season for a tiny fraction of their regular prices.

The online fantasy frock shop has become a go-to during wedding and holiday seasons, when new designs are in high demand. "The best part about working here is having a 40,000-square-foot closet of fabulous dresses," says stylist Alissa Koller, 23, in a glitzy Nicole Miller minidress.

For the festive season, merchandizing director Anushka Ramchandani is ready to shimmer. "I'm looking forward to wearing gold and shine," she says. But her colleague, senior visual designer Erica Oswick, 27, is worried less about the dress than she is about the party. "Our party last year was at Avenue. Hopefully it will be a space with a big dance floor—and an open bar," she giggles.

Bonobos

If there's an Animal House for the sartorial set, it's at the Flatiron office–cum–natty frat house of Bonobos, where Maker's Mark is always stocked, Formal Fridays are de rigueur and a semi-formal is held every summer. "You bring a date to the semi, and it gets competitive with outfits," says 25-year-old merchandizing manager Kevin Kelleher. "People will let you know if they're disappointed in your clothes, but not in a catty way. [More like a] we're-on-an-athletic-field sort of way."

Launched in 2007 by Andy Dunn and Brian Spaly just after graduating from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the online company began as a go-to purveyor of perfect-fitting men's khakis and has ballooned into a haberdashery for the discerning and cheeky man.

"It's important to bring positive energy into what you're wearing," says the dandy Dunn, 32, in corduroy trousers emblazoned with Christmas lights. "It's a fun time of year. Holiday parties are an excuse to push the boundaries."

Dunn plans to do just that with a soirée for his 60-plus staffers at the Tempest Storm suite at STK, complete with open bar, endless finger foods and plenty of good-natured, fashion-focused ribbing.

Spend over $100 on the dandy man in your life at Bonobos and get 25% off with code NYPBONOBOS. Valid Dec. 1, 2011-Feb. 1, 2012.

Gilt Groupe

Though the most extravagant affair at Gilt Groupe falls on Halloween ("Our CEO, Kevin Ryan, is famous for his truly amazing Halloween parties," says lifestyle editor Chassie Post), there's no shortage of companywide good fortune to celebrate this holiday season. The trailblazing designer sample sale site has morphed into a mini lifestyle factory that includes men's fashion (Park & Bond), food (Gilt Taste) and, most recently, travel (Jetsetter)—which means the office is stocked with all the ingredients for sophisticated and festive affairs.

"Gilt parties are definitely parties you'd want to attend—if we let you," boasts women's editorial director Melissa Liebling-Goldberg, 33.

With access to vintage couture and the latest togs, "anything goes when it comes to attire and dress code at these events, and we have some Gilt employees with mad style," Post says. But when asked if there was an office gift exchange, men's style director Josh Peskowitz, 32, quips, "Not that I know of. Do you know something I don't?"
