"Married With Children" star Christina Applegate yesterday shared good news with her fans - her breast cancer is gone.
"I'm clear, absolutely 100 percent clear and clean," she said on ABC's "Good Morning America," in her first interview since her diagnosis was made public.
"It did not spread. . . . I'm not gonna die from breast cancer."
In the interview, to be broadcast today, Applegate, 36, tells Robin Roberts, herself a breast-cancer survivor, that she started getting mammograms at age 30.
"It was through . . . MRI testing they found the cancer," she said. "It was . . . a follow-up MRI from a biopsy I had had last year."
She said when she learned the news, "I was so mad . . . I was just shaking. Then, immediately, I had to go into, you know, take-care-of-business mode.
"I asked them, 'What do I do now? What is it that I do? I get a doctor, I get a surgeon, I get an oncologist - what do I do?
"I immediately made those appointments . . . [then] called around for someone to teach me to live macrobiotically."
Her current show, "Samantha Who?" is scheduled to resume in October.
