A 90-year-old Staten Island man, severely mauled by two pit bulls last month, has died.
Henry Piotrowski's death Sunday means prosecutors may pursue more serious charges against the dogs' owners. James McNair and Kim DiPrima now face felony assault charges.
Piotrowski was attacked in his back yard on July 1 and doctors had to amputate one of his legs. The World War II vet had been in the hospital since the attack.
