LONDON - Singer Annie Lennox is recovering from spinal surgery after being forced by a back injury to return to Britain early from an AIDS conference in Mexico, the former Eurhythmic's Web site reported yesterday.
Lennox, 53, flew home last week, leaving the plane in a wheelchair.
"A first, I must say! Felt a bit like Elizabeth Taylor," she wrote.
London surgeons released a trapped nerve in her back over the weekend, and she is now recovering at home.
