Guthrie was for the birds last night as he took the loss against the Bosawx, which condensed Hondo's col lection of disposable dead presidents to 390 herndons.
Tonight, he's gotta go with Galarraga, the stable stalwart - 10 units on the Tigers to mess up Texas.

The Torrington (Conn.) Board of Approved Umpires recently gave a Lifetime Achievement Award to Tom Barbero, who not only was a youth baseball ump for nearly 30 years but also did four years in jail for sexu ally assaulting three teen boys in the '90s. Lauded board prez Lou Fracasso: "Tommy was one of the greats." Umpires or perverts? . . . Hondo's going to go way out on a limb and guess none of the great Tom my's victims were teen sons of the Torrington board members . . .
